I grew up in Ohio and graduated high school in 2002. From there, I moved to the Myrtle Beach area and began my undergraduate studies in Marine Science at Coastal Carolina University. I finished this degree in December 2007 and began working on my Master's degree in January of 2008. I am mostly interested in geophysics and in the use of acoustic instrumentation as a means of data collection. My thesis work focuses on sediment transport processes occurring just off the beach. I plan on finishing my Master's degree in May of 2010.
One of my biggest passions in life (ok, it's more like an obsession) is scuba diving. While working on my bachelor's degree, I also worked my way up the levels of recreational and professional SCUBA diving. In May of 2007 I became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. CCU is also in the process of starting a scientific diving program that I am very excited about and I hope to be around long enough to see it grow.
