About myself

I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Even though I grew up in a big city, I spent most of my vacations either at the beach or in the country. Being close to nature sparked an interest in animals and the environment. I pursued a degree in Biology from the Universidade do Vale do Paraiba, where I worked with dolphin/ fisheries interactions. After my undergraduate degree, I moved to the US, hoping to get fluent in English and pursue a master degree. I found Coastal Carolina University's program in Marine Science and joined the university to work with bottlenose dolphins. I took a few undergraduate classes in Marine Science and started working with the South Carolina Marine Mammal Stranding Network. In 2013, I joined the Master of Science in Coastal and Wetlands Studies. I am currently working with coastal bottlenose dolphin ecology and volunteering with marine mammal strandings.
