Background

Varavut ("Var") Limpasuvan is a Full Professor of Applied Physics. He is in the Department of Coastal and Marine Systems Science. He joined Coastal Carolina University in Fall 2000 after his Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Joint Institute for the Study of Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO) in Seattle (WA) as part of the Princeton University/NOAA GFDL Consortium. His research interests include atmospheric dynamics and scientific computing.

Originally from Thailand, he earned his doctorate degree from the University of Washington (Seattle) and completed his undergraduate dual-degree in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from Occidental College and the California Institute of Technology, respectively.
